🔹 How would you introduce yourself in one sentence to those who don’t know you yet?
I’m a curious person who loves inventing new things—creating something good that hasn’t existed before.
🔹 Do you remember the first time you programmed something? What was it, and what fascinated you about it?
My first program was a simple “Hello World” in Quick Basic. What fascinated me about programming was that I started with a blank file, and I could create anything from it. I just had to come up with an idea, write it down, and something entirely new was born from nothing.

🔹 What led you to start Must-Have Plugins? Was there a specific moment when you thought, “Okay, I have to do this”?
It was a long journey! 🙂 First, I got familiar with WordPress, then I saw how many plugins and themes were available, and I thought I could create similar things too. My first plugin was a security plugin (Swift Security), then I got involved in a theme project, followed by more plugins one after another.
I’ve seen thousands of WordPress sites inside and out. I saw the countless compatibility issues, the many abandoned plugins that were hard to replace, and the vast difference in quality between plugins and themes. Plus, having just a few essential plugins installed can easily add up to several hundred dollars per year for a single site. But usually, people don’t have just one site; they have multiple. So, I saw a real need for a package that includes all the essential plugins and tools for a WordPress site—at an affordable price. That’s what we set out to create with Must-Have Plugins.
🔹 Which of your developments are you most proud of? It can be a specific plugin or even just a single feature.
It’s hard to choose—I have several! 🙂
I’m definitely proud of my Critical CSS solutions for WordPress (I’ve made three versions over time) because Swift Performance was the first optimization plugin to include this feature. Since then, it has become a standard in optimization plugins.
I’m also proud of my JavaScript optimization solutions. There are two versions: a simple delay JS and a more advanced offload JS, available in Swift Performance AI. We introduced this approach, and while other caching plugins haven’t adopted it yet, delay JS has become a common feature in all of them.
🔹 What does a typical workday look like for you? Do you work in an organized way, or do ideas come spontaneously?
Spontaneity has always played a big role in my work—ideas come in all sorts of situations, whether I’m working or just walking the dog.
My workdays are pretty flexible. There is some structure, but I tend to work in a somewhat chaotic way. On the plus side, I easily put in 10-12 hours of work a day. 😀

🔹 What tools and software do you use daily? Is there a must-have tool you’d recommend to every developer?
I usually prefer the simplest text editors or development environments. Right now, I use Atom Editor, but I recently discovered Windsurf, which includes AI support. It speeds up the workflow quite a bit.
🔹 If you could give just one piece of advice to someone starting with WordPress development, what would it be?
Many developers ignore standards, which leads to problems sooner or later. So, my first advice would be: read the Codex and understand it. Then read a lot of code, and finally, start a small project. Programming is awesome! 🙂
🔹 Where do you see WordPress and plugin development heading? What trends should people watch out for?
The world is clearly moving toward no-code and AI solutions. More and more WordPress users are beginners, and they now make up the majority. The challenge is to serve their needs while still providing enough flexibility for advanced users.
🔹 What do you see in the future of Must-Have Plugins? Do you have a big dream you want to achieve?
Its future and my “dream” are basically the same: If you have a WordPress site, all you need is a Must-Have Plugins subscription, and every essential tool is instantly available to you.
🔹 What do you do when you’re not writing code? Do you have a hobby that helps you completely unwind?
What really helps me recharge is spending time with my family. I love spending time with my kids, and I make a conscious effort to do so every single day.
My other big passion is emergency medical services—I’ve been involved in it for over six years now, currently as a volunteer paramedic, and I’m also studying to become a paramedic officer (which is a unique role in Hungary with extended medical competencies).

🔹 If you weren’t a developer, what would you be doing?
Easy question. I’d be working full-time in emergency services 🙂
